Individual Responsibility Is Being Gradually Removed By The Government…Maybe It Is Time For Americans To Grow Up...
I wake up each and every morning with a simple understanding. I know what must be done in order to be responsible for my own life, as it applies to providing for my family and myself. Looking to others for what I can do for myself is not a consideration, or an option. I am responsible for my own life. I lost my job in 2008, a job I had for 11 years, but my life did not fall apart. Within a week, I had another job. I currently work for three separate companies, work half as many hours as I did with the lost job, and make twice the money of that lost job. If I lose all three jobs next week, I will still be fine. I will find another job, regardless of what many say about no jobs to be found. I have never received unemployment compensation, nor will I as long as my body and mind will allow me to work. Those who have a family to support and have not worked in two years should be ashamed of themselves, and more than likely, their families feel that shame. If you have a family to support and you have not worked in two years, then you don’t want to work. You should be working at McDonalds in the morning, Jack In The Box during the day, and Denny’s at night if that is what it takes to feed your family. I have no tolerance for the lazy. Those who are able to work should work. It is just that simple.
Prisons are filling at an alarming rate, and that is simply an unacceptable part of our society. Staying out of jail or prison is actually quite simple. I obey the valid laws of the land, and that one simple goal ensures that I will not find myself in the position of being incarcerated. I do not do drugs; in fact, I have not taken even prescribed medication in over twenty years. I do not steal. I need nothing that bad. I have not had even a traffic ticket in twenty-five years. I obey the law, and because of that, I am free to navigate through my societal existence without resistance from poor judgment or behavior on my part. It is just that simple.
I am responsible for my personal economy. I know what expenses that are a part of my daily existence, and I understand that it is up to me, not others to pay those expenses. Unlike the government, I take my personal economy very seriously. I understand that I cannot spend what funds I do not have. I do not depend upon others to provide for me, because I will not allow my expenses to go beyond my ability to pay those expenses. I do not dig myself into a hole, simply because there are social programs that are in place to pretend to help me, as they would leave me confined to that hole. You do not hear me support a safety net, mainly because I do not need that safety net, as I will provide what I need based on my own abilities. The government is not responsible for paying me to sit at home, and I do not expect them to do so. The government is not responsible for preventing me from losing my home, and I do not expect them to do so. The government is not responsible for paying for my health care expenses, and I do not expect them to do so. The government is not responsible for putting food on my table, and I do not expect them to do so. The government is not responsible for me, period. I do not depend upon them for what I can achieve on my own. It is just that simple.
My faith is strong, and my personal relationship with God is the foundation for my daily life. All other factors of life fall short in providing a solid foundation, so my focus is with my faith in all that I do. I do not depend upon the government or man for guidance or to provide me with what I need to survive daily. I do not push my personal faith upon anyone, nor is my right or within my ability to do so. I stand strong on issues related to my faith, and even though I cannot, nor should I force others to share in my faith, I will not remain silent when it comes to defending the foundation of my faith. Neither the government, nor common man has the power to alter or weaken my faith without me allowing it to happen, nor will I let that happen. That is my strength. It is just that simple.
I despise what I am witnessing happening with our great nation. We have a government (both the right and the left) that is taking us in a direction that is causing a constant decline in all aspects of our societal existence. They are presenting themselves as being caretakers and a support system for all, and they do so while they represent total failure in all they do. They are basically removing individual responsibility and self-motivation from our society, as they tell us that even in failure, they will take care of us. At one time, the American citizenry did not feel the need to be taken care of, and they were quick to make that known to all. Self-worth and self-preservation was as natural as the sun coming up each morning. We have evolved into a nation of this vulgar “GIVE ME MENTALITY” that has destroyed the foundation of our society, and in the process, our government now controls the people as opposed to representing them. The government does not control my life, and even though I must now work harder to achieve the same results, I will do that as opposed to falling into the grips of the government and becoming one of those who depend upon them for all they need. It is just that simple.
