Hi Gather Friends.

It has been a few days since I have been online to do much of anything.

The Funeral was Monday and then the Dinner. It was a Lovely service and I didn't

hardly leave my Mother's side. I did get up and speak on behalf of My Brother, Keith and

I'm Thankful for the strength to do it.

I didn't get home until late and then Today was even longer with things I had to

do with Family.

I'm so far behind in responding to post's and will try to get to them as soon as I

can!

Awwww, RedBird, that took an awfully lot of courage and strength to be able to stand up and talk about your brother at the funeral service......I'm sure you did very well, though......please know you and your family are in my prayers! It's always extremely difficult losing a loved one.

Yes, Nora, it did take 'strength', but I just knew if I didn't I would feel even worse later. Just one other sister got up and spoke right after I did, The other Brother's and Sister's just couldn't.

Oh how very sad for you. I hope your Mom is holding up. It's hard to lose a brother and it's very difficult for a Mother to lose a child. Take care and rest a while.

I've always known I couldn't speak at a family member's funeral. My cousin, the lawyer, did a great job with his father's, probably the only thing he's ever done that I admired. I know my mother wanted my uncle to speak at my father's funeral as someone close to him all his life, so I'm sure your speaking meant a lot to people there.

There were a lot of people there, and this was hard for me, but I asked 'The Good Lord for the 'strength' and He blessed me and gave it to me,.

Redbird, your family is important right now. And so are you and your feelings. Commenting on posts is something that can be done anytime and there will always be more. Let go of the ones that pile up and start new again when your friends post and you are able to comment. Take a break to be with your loved ones, your thoughts and yourself. Be kind to you.

I admire you for having the strength to speak at your brother's funeral. I could not do it at my father's service but my one brother was able to speak....it's a difficult thing to do. Take care of yourself and take time for you.

This has been the sadest Birthday I have ever had in my Life,

I did not before now of your loss. Just know things will get better. I lost my sister on Christmas day. I am here if you need to talk my friend. Today is your birthday? Next year will be better.

I am so sorry for your loss. I lost 3 family members myself within the last 6 months. Two were cousins of mine and they both were brothers. One passed away in August and the older brother this past February. Can you imagine a mother losing not one, but two sons just six months apart??? One is bad enough, but two is just overwhelming.

The older brother had just retired 3 weeks prior to his death. He was planning his first retirement fishing trip with his younger remaining brother. It is sad that one can work their whole life, just waiting to enjoy retirement and once they finally get there, then they drop dead from a heart attack just weeks after retirement.

There were four kids in the family - 3 boys and 1 girl. Now only the 2 youngest ones remain. Hard to think that one could lose half their family just six months apart. Everything can change in an instant. Can't it???
